Being late is never in fashion.

A small black and white tuxedo cat and a large black and white dog wait in the kitchen for dinner to be served.

Take it from us, two chic, tuxedo-wearing gentleman who make a point of camping out in the kitchen hours before dinner is likely to be served in order to avoid a faux pas.

We tend to go on and on about their performance as Chin Rests, but the little guys have other talents, too…

A large black and white hound is curled up next to a much smaller golden colored dog atop a solid purple quilt. The big dog rests one of his cheeks against the little dog, and one of his ears drapes over the little guy’s rump.

…like serving as Ear-and-Cheek Rests.

Best Choice

The middle-size Woofie is not my favorite Woofie…

A black and white tuxedo cat lounges on a futon with his back to a large, glossy black dog who appears to be snoozing.

…but she does radiate the most heat.

The same cat and the same dog are still on the futon. The dog has not moved, but the cat has flipped over to face the dog and is fast asleep.

So, sometimes the middle-size Woofie is the best choice.

The littlest Woofie believes that the nice sunny spot in the window is hers.

A little black shorthaired dog, with caramel markings on her pointy snout, basks in the sun in a grey dog bed on the ledge of a bay window. She is looking over her shoulder, a bit worried, with one of her pointy ears perked inquisitively.

She is wrong.

We were wrong. It is a grey cat bed and not a dog bed. It’s the same scene as before, except that a black and white tuxedo cat has taken the place of the little dog. His back is to the window and he is curled up, snoozing away in the cat bed as the sun rays warm his fur.

This spot is mine.
