Ignoring me

Sometimes, Human Daddy gets caught up scrolling through his phone and fails to pay sufficient attention to me, his beloved Warrior Princess.

A man in a grey tee shirt and shorts sits on wooden step leading up to a window seat built into a bay window. He is fully focused on his cell phone. A small, extremely adorable black dog sits next to the man and stares at him with big, sad Puppy Eyes. It’s clear that the man’s attention should be on her and not on his phone.

Fortunately, staring pointedly and even throwing in an annoyed bark if absolutely necessary, refocuses his attention almost immediately on his Top Priority, ME.

Window-adjacent

I am the Tiger Queen and I want to lounge on the window seat, but Amber insists that empresses, such as herself, the Tortie Empress, outrank queens.

Plus she’s my senior and my mother.

A small tortoise shell cat is fully stretched out on a wooden, carpeted, cat sized shelf in front of a large, sunny window. Another cat, a larger dilute tortie, sits sulkily in a loaf position on a white home printer to the right of the window. She is looking over her shoulder at the smaller cat. She would much prefer the window seat to the printer, but sometimes you have to make do with what you’ve got.

I guess I’ll just have to make do with a window-adjacent spot as my Cat Mom hogs the window.

I’m not happy about it, but it’s much too hot to launch an attack against the Empire.

Plus, attacks against the Empire never end well.

I know my mom.

Not the best

Human Mommy is not the best Fan Operator.

Actually, she is the worst.

She usually puts it on low and always sets it to oscillate, which means that sometimes you receive temporary, insufficient relief from the unbearable heat, but mostly you stay hot.

A large, handsome black and white hound lays on a wood floor next to a black pedestal fan in a desperate effort to cool down.

Fortunately, Human Daddy is a competent, decisive Fan Operator who never messes with silly oscillations and always sets the fan to high.
