Bunk beds are acceptable for naps so long as the top bunk provides enough clearance to prevent the upper Cat’s tail from inadvertently bopping the lower Cat’s ears.

We occasionally have that issue here. It’s resolved by lower bunk cat smacking upper bunk cat. Everyone settles down after that.

So long as your Cats can reach a resolution before the situation detracts from their requisite 18 hours of daily beauty sleep, there’s probably no need for anyone to write an outraged letter to the bunk bed manufacturer who failed to allot for proper tail clearance between the upper and lower bunks. It sounds like a bad review or two might have been justified. If you are in the business of Cat bunk beds, you need to be able to calculate tail clearance. Purrs, Lily and Amber
