Weren’t we here a couple of days ago?
Didn’t you say that this was our only time here for the year?
So maybe I had an altercation with another Cat…
So maybe I have a slight wound to my flank that is weeping stinky pus…
That’s hardly a reason to bring me back here.
You are not my favorite Human right now.

Oh, but it must be quite annoying to have to clean it yourself all the time, let the V E T help you …

I’m okay with the vet–it’s Human Mommy who’s in trouble. Purrs, Phelps

Not at all painful. The vet was completely unnecessary. Purrs, Phelps

I guess fighting is not worth it, huh?

Going to the vet is not worth it. That’s the moral I’m drawing from this story. Purrs, Phelps

My old cat Jake had a serious of abscesses. Talk about stinky puss. He would deposit the puss on the furniture. It took many vet trips until she found the ear infection that caused him to scratch himself open and cause the abscess. Sure hope the other cat wasn’t one of your roommates. Keep an eye on human mommy so she doesn’t take you back just to check it. You know how humans are.

When my late kitty, Louie the ginger cat, got into a brawl, he has a bite on his butt. His veterinarian shaved the spot where the bite was to get a better look and to make sure there wasn’t any infection. After a shot, Louie and I came home, and he ran into the guest bedroom to hide in the bathtub, he was so traumatized by it all. He eventually came out that day, but he was much nicer to neighborhood cats after that.

Hmmm… Nicer? Not sure if that’s really necessary in my case. Purrs, Phelps

Poor Phelps. Fighting is never good-but we all know cats never learn. One of the things I love about cats is how close they are to their wild cousins. There is a documentary on Netflix called The Lion in Your Living Room.

Yes! We watched a similar documentary, “The Story of Cats,” with the Humans and the Woofies. The Woofies were most intimidated. SuperiorityΒ

Harrumph! It would have healed up just fine on its own. To add insult to injury, the Humans are keeping me under house arrest to heal, they say. I feel just fine! Purrs, Phelps

Wow Phelps I’m glad you feel fine anyway! You sound like Mom’s former cat Scamper with those fights and abscesses! Since I’m an indoor cat, I’m basically on house arrest all the time! Sigh! Fosterπ±πΌ

Not in the least! I’ve been shut inside the house ever since. How’s a ferocious Guard Cat supposed to guard the house from inside? Purrs, Phelps
